Physical Fitness Exercises

If you have questions or would like to know more about specific exercises described in my book, send an email to bal@gadflyandguru.com

I will eventually post photos, drawings, and/or videos, but in order to provide the most relevant information, I would like to see what people would like to know more about. So please send me an email with anything you want to ask.

In the meantime, here are some links to others’ videos and apps that may prove helpful:

Mark Lauren’s Bodyweight Training App

Apple and Android

This app costs $5 but is very worthwhile if you want more information about specific bodyweight exercises. Ignore the “workout” option, and just explore the “exercises,”  which include short videos and descriptions of a hundred or so various exercises. For those just beginning, though, keep it simple and focus on his videos of the exercises I describe in my book.

Tom Merrick’s Stretching Routines

Version 1, Version 2, Version 3

I find that a lot of so-called “beginner” stretching and yoga routines on YouTube are in fact advanced and maybe even a little dangerous for true beginners. But the three videos linked above provide good, safe routines that can nicely supplement or replace the routine I lay out in my book.
